Seniors parked in the Woodman Parking Lot on March 5th to watch “10 Things I Hate About You.”

Seniors were invited to attend the Drive-In Movie Nights on Friday, March 5th and the 12th at 7PM. The Drive-In took place at ND’s Woodman Parking Lot. “10 Things I Hate About You” was showcased on March 5th and “Napoleon Dynamite” on March 12th. Admission was free, but attendance was limited to 80 cars per movie. A Google form was sent to seniors on Monday, March 1st to RSVP for “10 Things I Hate About You” and a RSVP Google form on March 8th for “Napoleon Dynamite.”

Seniors were able to bring their own food and their “Surprise Bucket filled with movie munchies” that were delivered to their homes a week before. Additional popcorn and bottled water was served by teachers and faculty when the movie started. Students were instructed to arrive between 6:30-6:50 PM at the Woodman Parking Lot. All vehicles were parked facing the Holy Cross Center. The first two rows of parking were reserved for sedan-type cars. SUV’s were parked in the last two rows and in the parking spots along Huston Street.

Students were told to tune into 100.1 FM on their car radios to sync their audio with the movie. Co-mingling of car pods were not allowed and was directed to stay in the car for the duration of the movie, except for the use of restrooms. Restrooms were open in the Hampton and Burns buildings and only one person was allowed to be in the restroom at a time with a mask at all times.

At the end of the movie, seniors parked on the right side of the movie screen were instructed to exit down the walkway between the HCC and the Burns building and out to the Huston parking lot gate. Vehicles on the left of the movie screen were instructed to exit using the Woodman parking lot gate.

The night of “10 Things I Hate About You” had a larger attendance, but overall both nights were successful in gathering seniors to celebrate their last year at Notre Dame. We loved the Senior Movie Drive-In and gladly look forward to more upcoming senior events!
