Knights, Signing Off!

The second and final signing day of the 2022-23 school year is complete. Which Knights are going where?

Spring Signing Day took place on April 4, and ND was well-represented.

Five seniors officially signed to attend and play sports at some amazing schools! Let’s recap who and where.

From baseball, Ryan Limerick ‘23 and Wilson Henze ‘23 signed!

Limerick has officially signed to University of California, Berkeley. UC Berkeley is a highly praised academic and athletic institution. He’s joining the squad with fellow Notre Dame baseball player, Oliver Boone ‘23, who signed earlier in the year.

Henze has officially signed with Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. The Swarthmore baseball team won its Centennial Conference title in 2018. They look to be a contender for the title next year with their new recruit!

In football, Braylon Wise ‘23 signed with Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. The defensive back is ready to get to work at the D1 football school.

Also from football, Ethan Fullerton ‘23 officially signed with Columbia University, whose football team ranked 5th in the Ivy League Conference last season. Their new addition will certainly help them climb the standings!

Meeya Marquez ‘23, a star on our Women’s Golf team, signed with Bethune-Cookman University, a D1 school in Daytona Beach, Florida. “I am a Biology major, [and] I had about six other offers to play golf. I chose Bethune because of its history and the women’s golf coach,” said Marquez.

April Fontenette ‘23, one of ND’s track and field stars and a previous athlete of the week recipient, has signed with UCLA where she will be majoring in Design Media Arts

“I had lots of offers from different schools, however UCLA has been my dream school since I was in middle school and the whole experience with my visit secured my commitment,” said Fontenette. UCLA ranked 13 in the Top 25 Teams for D1 Women’s Track and Field in 2021.

“Overall, I enjoy doing discus and shot put, and I know I still have lengths to go and advance, especially at UCLA. Hopefully I will be able to compete in the Olympics one day,” said Fontenette.

Congratulations and good luck to all of these incredible student-athletes!

ND staff and students are so proud of all of these and other on-the-rise athletes. We can’t wait to see who commits where next year!
